The Travelling Stamps: Part 2
You might remember a few months back that I collaborated with Elizabeth Stilwell of The Note Passer to bring a series of posts on printing with rubber stamps. You can find more information about the first stage of our collaboration here.
The second stage of our collaboration involves posting my hand-carved stamps to fellow sustainable fashion bloggers to make their own creative project using the stamps. This was inspired by the original travelling stamp project by Emma Dime. I was very excited to see what Elizabeth would come up with using my stamps. Here is her own project:
I love how she has interpreted my stamps. Her design is completely different to my own use of the stamps, which you can see below:
By Elizabeth’s own admissions, this project had her a little outside of her comfort zone, but she was still able to come up with a stunning result. It just goes to show that no matter your experience with a craft/art, being brave enough to give it a go in the first place is the main part of the battle. It is well worth checking our her full post to learn more about her experience of the process.
The travelling stamps will now be heading to Hannah at Lifestyle Justice for her own interpretation of the project. If you are a blogger and would like to be involved, send me an email at summer(at)tortoiseandladygrey(dot)com.
I hope that this project can inspire some new creative confidence in you to try a new craft. Why don’t you check out my Slow Fashion DIY tutorials for some inspiration.
