Beauty Products that Nourish: Araza Natural Beauty

Reading through the posts on tortoise & lady grey you may have noticed that I am drawn to brands that have a story to tell. Stories of empowerment, dignified employment and a better world for producers, the environment, and the people who wear their products. And these stories are so important, they are what set ethical brands apart from fast fashion labels. They offer us an alternative to the status quo.

Araza Natural Beauty* is a brand with a story to tell. Founded by Lindsey Diamond, a health and fitness coach, who spent years advocating for her clients to eat unprocessed organic (chemical-free) foods before she began to realise that the quality of products that we put on our skin is just as important. Unsatisfied with a beauty industry that puts profit before the health of their customers, Lindsey brought together her love of health with her love of beauty products to found Araza Natural Beauty, a beauty label which believes that a healthy lifestyle is central to beauty and that beauty products can promote health and wellbeing rather than undermine it.

As Lindsey states, her mission is “to provide health-conscious active women with a healthy, high quality make up made from only the finest natural and certified organic ingredients that perform like the top brands, but without all the junk”. Araza Natural Beauty offer a range of eye and cheek colour, foundation and powder, and lip balm and gloss. Products are 100% natural, and contain no parabens, chemicals, sulfates, phthalates, GMOs, tricolsan, mineral oils, or artificial fragrances. They are also cruelty-free, vegan, and gluten-free. All the products are handmade in a small family-owned facility in the US, making them an ethical choice as well.

I tested out a few of the products which were gifted to me for this review. I particularly like the soft hues of the Rasberry and Citrus Infused Eye Colour. My favourite shade was Rose Gold, which worked beautifully with a little of the darker Java to define the eyes. A lovely combination to subtly highlight the eyes without looking particularly ‘made up’.

If you are looking for some natural make-up to replace a stash of conventional chemical laden products, do check Araza Natural Beauty out. With products are kind to your health, kind to the earth, and ethically produced, they are well worth your consideration.

*I was gifted some product samples for the purposes of this review. I only accept products for review which meet the strict ethical and sustainability standards of tortoise & lady grey, and would never feature a product or brand which failed to meet up to these standards.
